Privacy Policy

KMUTE TECHNOLOGY LIMITED (RC 9656032), of 5B Boulevard Close, Heritage Garden Estate, Sangotedo, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria, is the data controller for personal data we collect about merchants and website visitors.

Where a merchant uses Kaufig to sell to their own customers, the merchant is the controller of their customers' data and we act as a processor on their behalf — we handle that data to provide the service, following their instructions.

Account data: name, email address, phone number, business name and password (stored only as a cryptographic hash — we never see it).

Business data: your products, orders, customer records, messages and settings that you create while using Kaufig.

Payment data: transaction amounts, references and payout details. Card and bank credentials are handled directly by our licensed payment partners — Kaufig does not store card numbers.

Usage data: device and browser information, IP address, pages viewed and actions taken, used to keep the service secure and to understand what to improve.

Communications: messages you exchange with our support team, and messages sent through the platform on your behalf.

To provide and operate the service; to process payments and payouts; to provide customer support; to detect and prevent fraud and abuse; to meet legal and regulatory obligations; and to improve the product. Where we rely on your consent — for example, marketing emails — you can withdraw it at any time.

We share data only with service providers who help us run Kaufig, and only what they need: payment processors, cloud hosting and database providers, messaging and email delivery providers, and analytics and error-monitoring tools. These providers are bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.

We may disclose data where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the public. We do not sell personal data.

Our infrastructure is hosted with reputable cloud providers, which may mean your data is stored or processed outside Nigeria. Where that happens we rely on providers offering an adequate standard of protection and appropriate contractual safeguards.

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as long as needed for legitimate business or legal purposes — such as tax and accounting records, which Nigerian law requires us to retain.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict certain processing, and request a portable copy. You may also lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@kaufig.com. We respond within 30 days and may ask you to verify your identity first.

We protect data in transit with TLS, hash all passwords, isolate each business's data at the database level, and restrict staff access to what is needed to support you. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the regulator as the law requires.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure how the product is used. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, though signing in will not work without the essential ones.

Kaufig is intended for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18.

If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change significantly affects you, tell you directly.
